LAB | A workshop for theater professionals

Led by theater professionals, specifically inviting other professionals to engage in a process-oriented exploration.

The Lab has a rotating leadership system and is co-taught by two members of the community.

There is no charge for the LAB but we ask participants to commit to all sessions in a series.

May 2025: THE LAUGH/CRY BORDERLAND and THE SEVEN VOICES
9 local professional theater practitioners came together each week to experiment with a psychophysical acting practice rooted in developmental sound/movement as it led into preverbal root emotions, voice as activated breath, text moving from internal to external to universal, the laugh/cry borderland, and developing our thief’s toolbox.

October 2025: SOAP
A group improvisational SOAP (opera) that will unfold over five Monday evenings. Participants will enter into the Lab with a SOAP character of their own creation and partner with others to create and present scenes. Facilitators: Jane Paradise with Lizi Watt
