Bonnie Taylor

Bonnie Taylor recently directed the staged reading of David Hare’s Berlin/Wall and is currently assistant director and co-prop designer for Outlying Islands. She worked in the same capacity for last fall’s production of Helver’s Night, for which she collaborated with the Turner Center for the Arts to create the lobby exhibit.

Her work with Upstream Theater began as Prop Designer for Woyzeck. Last summer, she did prop design and set dressing for the Orange Girls’ Collected Stories, and just completed her term as a judge for the Kevin Kline Awards.

In 2005, Bonnie received her PhD in Comparative Literature with Drama and before, her MA in Dramatic Literature from Washington University. While at WU, she directed playwright Hélène Cixous’ The Conquest of the School at Madhubai and oversaw the effort of several departments to bring Ms. Cixous to St. Louis. Bonnie has lectured at WU and SIUE in theater history and acting. In the past, she has both acted and stage-managed for local theater companies including TNT, ShatterMask, and Muny/Student Theatre Project. She is a member of Actors’ Equity and mayor of Crystal Lake Park in St. Louis County.
