Philip Boehm
Philip Boehm, Artistic Director, has spent nearly twenty years working in professional theaters both at home and abroad,
from Warsaw and Krakow to New York and Atlanta. St. Louis audiences may remember his productions
of Wings by Arthur Kopit, Ghetto by Joshua Sobol at the Webster University Conservatory of Theatre
Arts, or Dario Fo’s We Won’t Pay! We won’t Pay! for ShatterMask. He is the recipient of numerous grants
from the International Theatre Institute, the US-Mexico Fund for Culture, and the Robert Bosch Foundation,
among others. For his work as a literary translator he has received numerous awards, most recently from the
Texas Institute of Letters. He is the author of various plays including Mixtitlan, which premiered in Atlanta
in 1999, and Amerika, adapted from the novel by Franz Kafka, currently on tour in the Slovak Republic. Other plays
and adaptations have been staged in venues as far-flung as Toronto, Dublin, and Carrboro, North Carolina.
