PRESS RELEASE
For immediate release
January 10, 2008
Upstream Theater presents the world premiere of The Polish Egg Man February 8-10 and 14-17, 2008.
Upstream Theater is pleased to present the world premiere of The Polish Egg Man by Alexander Borinsky. Performances are February 8-10 and 14-17 at 305 S. Skinker Blvd. (at Fauquier between Clayton and Wydown). All shows are at 8 PM except Sundays at 7 PM.
The Polish Egg Man is a deeply poignant and highly playful dark comedy that dances on the razor edge between laughing and crying. It is the story of Molly, grappling with depression, her hapless husband Angus, doing his best to figure her out, and the Polish Egg Man, trying to fathom unhappiness in general. With dazzlingly poetic language, their tales collide in this theatrical tour-de-force.
Directed by guest artist Wieslaw Górski from Poznan, Poland, and starring local Equity actors Magan Wiles, Christopher Hickey and Alan Knoll. Costumes by Michele Siler. Set design by Philip Boehm. Lighting by Patrick Huber.
We are pleased to announce that Upstream Theater has been awarded a prestigious grant from the Theatre Communications Group and the International Theatre Institute to help fund Mr. Górski’s participation.
Tickets are $20, $18 for seniors, and $15 for students. Special group discounts available. For reservations please call 863-4999 or email upstreamtheater@sbcglobal.net.
